Take a minute to read this story by Greg Johnson. In it, he writes about a new book by Bill McWilliams titled, "Scrimmage for War: A Story of Pearl Harbor, Football and World War II."
McWilliams, a former Air Force pilot, details the experiences of football teams from Willamette (Ore.) University and San Jose State, both of which had sailed to Honolulu to play a round-robin with the University of Hawaii and were on Oahu when the island was attacked on Dec. 7, 1941.
