GNAC Insider: UAA Chancellor on Seawolves, DII, Quake

Dr. Cathy Sandeen, who took over as chancellor at the University of Alaska Anchorage in mid-September, joined host Robert Lowery on this week's edition of GNAC Insider (link to episode below).

Other guests appearing on the conference's weekly radio show included Western Washington director of athletic communications Jeff Evans and Northwest Nazarene softball player Anna Williams. The interview with Evans starts at the 12:00 mark; the interview with Williams starts at the 25:00 mark.

Evans, a former member of the Seattle Mariners' public relations staff, talked about his role in helping with the campaign to see Edgar Martinez voted into the Baseball Hall of Fame. Evans also talked about his trip to the NCAA Fall Festival in Pittsburgh and WWU's efforts preparing to host the 2019 GNAC Men's and Women's Basketball Championships.

Williams joined the show to talk about the Nighthawks, the preseason GNAC favorites who open their season this weekend at the Desert Stinger in Las Vegas. NNU won the GNAC tournament title last year and advanced to the NCAA West Regionals.

Sandeen joined UAA after serving as chancellor at the University of Wisconsin Colleges and the University of Wisconsin-Extension.
