Central Washington Volleyball Draws Record Home Crowd

A look at part of the record-breaking home crowd at CWU.
There were some big matchups dotting the GNAC sports calendar over the weekend, and one huge noteworthy crowd.

At Nicholson Pavilion on the campus of Central Washington University, a crowd of 2,109 squeezed into the venerable venue to see a rivalry volleyball match between CWU and Western Washington.

It was all a part of Welcome Wildcat Weekend, and the attendance mark was the largest ever for a regular-season conference volleyball match hosted by CWU.

Congratulations to the Central Washington volleyball program, and the marketing folks inside the athletic department, for the record-breaking effort.

Big volleyball crowds have a lengthy history in the GNAC, as outlined in this story from a couple of years ago by GNAC assistant commissioner Blake Timm.
