West Region Volleyball Showcase Schedules Finalized

UAA will host the top pod in Anchorage
The 2017 West Region Volleyball Showcase, a preseason challenge event featuring 38 teams from three Division II conferences, will be held across locations in five states Sept. 7-9.

You can see schedules for each of the six pods below.

In summary: with the exception of the pod at San Francisco State, each location features two teams from the GNAC, PacWest and CCAA playing in a round-robin format.  Each team plays a total of four matches -- one against each of the other four non-conference opponents at their locale. The pod at San Francisco State includes eight teams (four from the PacWest, three from the CCAA and one from the GNAC).

Pod participants are based on the final 2016 regular season standings. For instance, the Anchorage pod includes the top two seeds from each league. Pod B in Nampa, Idaho, features seeds 3 and 4; Pod C in Ellensburg, Wash., features seeds 5 and 6; Pod D in Monmouth, Ore., features seeds 7 and 8; Pod E in Lacey, Wash., features seeds 9 and 10; and Pod F features teams which finished 11th or lower.

In total, the 38 West Region teams will combine to play 76 matches.

The 2017 season marks the GNAC's turn in the conference rotation to serve as host. Listed below are locations for the individual pods (note: Pod F will be hosted by CCAA member San Francisco State).

Pod B -- Nampa, Idaho (Northwest Nazarene host)
Pod C -- Ellensburg, Wash. (Central Washington host)
