The NCAA will unveil the following two public service announcements with the first full weekend of college football in 2016.
One PSA is titled "Done" and features star athletes Misty May-Treanor, Natalie Coughlin and Nneka and Chiney Ogwumike. According to information shared by the NCAA, the spot is intended to "make a bold statement about gender in sports ... women are already powerful and shouldn't need to prove themselves any differently."
The second PSA features former NCAA football player and NFL Hall of Famer Jerry Rice, and highlights the fact that a mere 2 percent of collegiate student-athletes make the leap to a career in pro sports. According to the NCAA (and rightly so), "This makes education, and everything else learned playing college sports (grit, determination, teamwork, time management) that much more important to preparing for life after sports."
Take a look for yourselves at the new spots below, and watch for them throughout the season while enjoying college football.
