As college men's basketball coaches begin preparing their teams for the 2016-17 season, they'll be well-served to pay close attention to the recent rules video produced by the NCAA.
JD Collins, who is beginning his second year overseeing men's basketball officiating for the NCAA, gave an excellent presentation to the Division II conference commissioners at their annual summer meeting in Arizona last month. Together with NCAA Secretary-Rules Editor Art Hyland, Collins has recently disseminated the following video to all head coaches in advance of the upcoming season.
While the video is intended as a teaching tool for coaches and players, fans can also benefit from the expert guidance this tutorial provides.
The video runs a little under 20 minutes -- or, about the length of one half in a men's basketball game (minus all those TV timeouts, of course).
