Sometimes you need to land on the editorial page.
Such is the case for Seattle Pacific University, which recently was among an elite list of Presidents' Award recipients as announced by the NCAA for achieving an Academic Success Rate of 90 percent or better.
In SPU's case, the success rate was 93 percent. And it did not go unnoticed by the editorial page team at the Seattle Times.
As defined by the NCAA, the Academic Success Rate measures the percentage of student-athletes who earn their degrees within six years of initial college enrollment.
This is the ninth consecutive year in which SPU has made the list.
