Here's why the eight-year extension of the NCAA's multimedia rights agreement with CBS and Turner Sports announced today is great news for Division II:
It provides the division financial stability well into the future.
Division II's share of annual Association revenue is 4.37 percent, and an overwhelming portion of that figure funds 25 national championships and other initiatives, including distributions to institutions and conferences, and various grants.
The agreement with CBS and Turner, which is actually an extension of the previous contract that was to run eight more years, now goes through 2032.
